Dog Harness Fitting Instructions
- The C strap is designed to ride low on a
dog's chest. (See "Side Ring Position" photo in step
#2 below). After fitting, the C strap should
pivot up and down on the side rings without chafing your dog's
chest.
- The leash ring should move up, down, forward,
right and left.
- The side rings should be mid-way down a
dog's side and behind his shoulder muscles.
- The buckle is designed to be low on the
girth strap to prevent pressure on a dog's shoulder muscle.

Collar - Harness Leash Attachment
Clip the leash to the top of the leash ring and to the ring
of a regular collar simultaneously.
Use this setup:
- When first using the harness. This prevents the harness from
shifting and offers general dog-safety while you are both learning
the harness.
- With retractable and long leashes. This prevents dogs from
tripping over the leash and helps prevent excessive rotational
effect when your dog reaches the end of the leash.
- For strong and distracted dogs. This provides more control
and distributes the load on hardware.
- For dogs who like to chew. This prevents a dog from grabbing
the chest strap with his mouth while on leash.
|
 |
Dog Safety
- Use the correct size harness. Puppies can slip out of or become
tangled if a harness is too large.
- Do not leave on puppies or on dogs that CHEW.
- Check the snap buckle.
- Always inspect the harness for damage from chewing, such as any
fraying or a cut in webbing.
- Never use a damaged harness.
- Do not leave on dogs around children without supervision.
- Do not alter or repair a harness. For alteration or repair service,
call (866) 305-6145.
Use the Harness Only For Its Intended Uses
- Not for use with a tie-out.
- Not for running on leash. This can cause rubbing and chafing, especially
for short-haired dogs.
- Not for use as a car harness.
Disclaimer: Softouch Concepts does not assume responsibility for
damage or injury caused by incorrect fitting, misuse, alteration or
